These range from hardware suppliers, software developers and virtualization partners, to cloud solution and managed service providers. Like VodafoneZiggo, these companies are technological frontrunners in their respective domains. Do you have the political savviness and contractual acumen to maintain and expand these partnerships?
As our Vendor Manager Technology,
it’s up to you to devise and implement an effective contractual lifecycle strategy that puts the pieces in place for us to achieve our goals and ambitions. You are our liaison to contract partners in the network domain. Because you subscribe to the theory that fostering win-win partnerships is key to sustainable success, vendors instinctively trust and welcome you; strong-arming isn’t part of your genetic makeup. At the same time, you always work with VodafoneZiggo’s, and by extension, our customers’ interests at heart. So, it’s equally important you don’t roll over when barked at. You have an eye for detail, and a sixth sense for circumventing ‘contractual landmines and time bombs’, as well as for the big picture and the strategic dimensions of key vendor relationships. The 20 (or so) vendors you manage are all significant, either in terms of their organizational impact and/or financial scope, which makes this a high-impact role. You’ll get to know each of your vendor counterparts on a first-name basis and acquire an in-depth understanding of their businesses so that you can take a proactive approach. You’ll initiate, influence, negotiate, implement and manage contractual developments so that end-to-end business needs continue to be met. As Vendor Manager Technology you work closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Strategy, so all internal stakeholders remain firmly aligned.

Strong commercial awareness. The ability to not only see both sides of the commercial equation, but to strike the right balance between them as well. And the political prowess that allows you to foster win-win partnerships. Because the stakes are high (impacting all external opex and capex network spend of the organisation), experience on a strategic level is an asset: your counterparts are established veterans in their jobs, so high level negotiation skills are a must. Project and process management experience is welcome, as is fluency in English, preferably including business and legal terminology.

About this Position
This role is positioned one level below the Senior Manager Partner Strategy & Contracts, whom you’ll advise continuously. Externally, you partner with up to 20 key vendors. Internally, you’ll liaise with Finance, Legal, Strategy and Procurement. You will also work with members of our parent companies on a regular basis. Of note; this job will entail (limited) travelling abroad.
You can either work from our Amsterdam office or our office in Maastricht, frequent travel between these two is necessary.
