In the role of Financial Controller, you have the opportunity to be part of an organization in a dynamic, high volume, no-nonsense and fast-paced environment. As Financial Controller it’s your primary responsibility to ensure the long-term financial solvency of VodafoneZiggo. You are responsible for relevant financial processes, monthly-consolidated result analysis and internal controls to ensure completeness and correctness of our actual financial figures. Furthermore, you take part in assessing, analyzing and driving improvement within the assigned focus area(s) in liaison with Accounting.

This is what you do

  • Analyze consolidated financial results and facilitate explaining these results towards stakeholders including Senior Management, shareholders, auditors and investors;
  • Support an efficient, effective, robust and (ICOFR) GAAP compliant record to report process in the respective domain;
  • Create and maintain all relevant monthly analysis files, while driving the development to better reporting and analysis;
  • Prepare and present monthly financial analysis on consolidated level and reports to Senior Management;
  • Assist with forecasting of assigned focus area(s) for monthly, yearly, and long range plan cycles via detailed insights into actuals as needed;
  • Take part (in) or steer regular reviews and improvement projects for relevant (financial) processes and takes ownership of respective internal controls as appropriate;
  • Safeguard ICOFR compliance within dedicated focus area in close cooperation with Financial Risk Management team;
  • Prepare regular reporting packages and additional schedules (to support audit and all relevant internal/external reporting requirements as needed);
  • Generate ad hoc management reports and/or analysis as needed by Senior Management;
  • Collaborate with Business and Finance teams to evaluate processes and drive improvements;
  • Liaise with relevant finance and business teams to understand actual performance compared to plan/forecast and prior year to secure correctness and completeness of recorded financial figures;
  • Through exceptional written and verbal communication skills, effectively communicate and influence all levels up to executive level management;
  • Build a strong relationship with relevant teams of our shareholders Liberty Global and Vodafone Group.

Got what it takes

The successful candidate will have:

  • a Master Degree, preferably in Finance or Economics combined with at least 3 years’ experience in Audit/Financial Consulting;
  • Living in the Netherlands and speaking Dutch 
  • strong business affinity and familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP;
  • strong technical and system skills and knowledge (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Excel, SQL, Power BI, Big Data) combined with the ability to identify and support data-driven analytics;
  • a pro-active, flexible and team player minded personality who is capable of succeeding in a fast paced, changing environment as well as one who will utilize its own opinion and initiative to ‘get things done’ and to leave his/her footprint.
